Diaspora and Its Impact on Morisco Literature: An Analytical Study of the Major Works of Diaspora Poets

Abstract

This research addresses the issue of Moorish Andalusian poetry and examines the impact of the Moorish catastrophe on it. It opens new avenues for emotional, psychological, and historical critical approaches, shedding light on how the Moorish poet conveyed his experience and expressed his feelings of displacement, alienation, and separation. The study adopts a new critical approach in interpreting this fragmented poetry, revealing its aesthetic dimensions and its influence on Andalusian poetry. The research relies on both historical and psychological approaches, applied to three selected poems by prominent Moorish poets to highlight emotional and linguistic aesthetic features. The study concludes that the "experience of exile" imposed upon the Moorish poets played a major role in conveying the emotions of displaced people through innovative poetic techniques that went beyond traditional forms, ultimately enriching Arabic literature and reinforcing its aesthetic, cultural, and civilizational significance.
